Our eye care practice focuses on you and your visual needs. Some of the services we provide include: complete eye examinations, contact lens fittings, speciality contact lens fitting, optomap photos, dilation, pediatric eye care, diabetic evaluations, glaucoma detection, dry eye treatment, cataract evaluations, aesthetic referrals, and macular degeneration assessment. We also provide emergency eye examinations including red eye treatment, foreign body removal, and flashes and floaters evaluations. Furthermore, we have a strong referral network and can schedule you with an appropriate physician nearby if you need speciality care.

Meet the Team

Dr. Suzanne Kimmons Doty

Optometrist

Suzanne Kimmons Doty is originally a South Georgia native but spent many years living abroad in Saudi Arabia. She attended TASIS school in Lugano, Switzerland and graduated from Florida Central Academy in Sorrento, Florida. After high school she attended the University of Georgia where she received her BS in biology. She completed her doctorate from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.

With a flare for fashion and a passion for optometry, Suzanne opened Spec-Takular Boutique - a culmination of fun and eclectic eyewear coupled with superior patient care. She practiced solo for 17 years until selling the practice in 2020. After selling the practice, she attempted to retire, but discovered that she truly missed optometry.

Suzanne resides in both Gainesville, Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina. She has 3 grown children, Alex, Austyn and Allison and 2 bichons, Lilly Mae and Rosie Ray. Her hobbies include throwing pottery, running, traveling, mosaicing, gardening, boating and Georgia football.

Dr. Jennifer Slotwinski

Optometrist

Dr. Jennifer Slotwinski joined Market Place Eyecare 2023. She is a native to Chicago. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois in Chicago with a degree in Biological Sciences. She obtained her doctorate with the distinction of magna cum laude from the Illinois College of Optometry. She is fluent in English and Polish.

In her free time, Dr. Slotwinski enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and two dogs.

Dr. Elisabeth Lawson

Optometrist

Dr. Elisabeth J. Lawson is a highly skilled optometrist with over 10 years of experience in family eye care, dry eye, pediatrics, specialty contact lenses, and ocular disease. She is passionate about serving the greater North Georgia community and currently practices at a non-profit eye clinic, when she is not at Market Place Eyecare.

Dr. Lawson grew up in Columbia, SC, and spent much of her youth, with family and friends, enjoying water activities on Lake Murray. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology with cum laude honors from UCLA. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree at Southern College of Optometry. After practicing in Tennessee and Mississippi, she moved to Athens, Georgia, where she worked as an associate and eventually opened her own optometry practice, Market Place Eyecare.

Dr. Lawson is a committed practitioner and is a member of the Georgia Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters, participating in church activities, enjoying the outdoors, and traveling.
